Citizens for One Rancho Cordova: Affordable for ALL! is a group of concerned Rancho Cordova citizens. Our goal is to assure that the future growth of Rancho Cordova is planned to accommodate all housing and living needs of those residing in the community.

We are concerned:

  • Will our children be able to stay in Rancho Cordova as home costs and rents continue to rise?
  • Will new development further our vision of ONE Ranch Cordova?
  • Will people who work in Rancho Cordova (many of whom earn less than $12 per hour) be able to live near their jobs?
  • Will Families earning less than $20,000 per year be able to remain in safe housing in Rancho Cordova?

Citizens for One Rancho Cordova: Affordable for ALL! has formed to make sure the answer to each of our concerns is YES!

The median cost of a new home is $456,600.

With 30,000 new homes planned to be built in Rancho Cordova, we are recommending that the city council require some of the homes in each development be made affordable to working families and seniors earning less than $51,000 per year.

The City Council can accomplish this through a flexible program where market rate homebuilder work with the city and maybe even partner with affordable housing developers to construct a range of different for sale and rental homes in the new development areas that are affordable to a range of incomes (low, very low and extremely low See definitions click here).
